SOLUCIONES INTELIGENTES PARA EL SECTOR AGRARIO

La transformación del sector primario gracias a su adaptación a las nuevas tecnologías está sucediendo, y es cada vez más obvia. Veamos a continuación de qué se trata y todo lo que va a ofrecer al sector de la agricultura y la ganadería.

¿Ganadería y agricultura inteligentes?

¡Claro que sí! Mediante la aplicación de IoT (Internet of Things o Internet de las Cosas) al sector agrario, es posible conseguir resultados que optimicen las labores en el campo.

La idea origina porque en el futuro no habrá suficiente abastecimiento debido a que la población mundial cada vez es mayor en cuanto a cifras se refiere. Ante esta necesidad y el repunte de los avances tecnológicos, surge la idea de la Agricultura y la Ganadería Inteligentes, que permiten realizar todos los procesos agrarios que conocemos actualmente pero de manera más rápida, fácil, limpia y sostenible. Además de una reducción de costes notables a largo plazo y la mejora en la calidad del producto.

Los dispositivos conectados permiten saber a los agricultores cómo está su cultivo en tiempo real o a los ganaderos la situación de su ganado. A su vez, esto tendrá un impacto positivo en el futuro de cara a la economía mundial.

Nuevas tecnologías IoT en el sector agrario

El internet de las cosas está ofreciendo diferentes soluciones y avances aplicados al rendimiento de los terrenos cultivables. Algunas de ellas son:

Gestión inteligente de riego

Es una de las soluciones con las que contamos en FIWARE Space y tecnología de UVAX. Esta aplicación da una solución inteligente de riego que permite conocer la humedad y la temperatura del terreno, procesar la información para saber si la tierra está seca y, en el caso de que sea necesario, regar de manera automática.

Además es posible cruzar toda la información obtenida con la previsión del tiempo, por lo que si se prevé lluvia, el algoritmo decide si regar o no. Con lo que se conseguiría una telegestión de riego automático.

También permiten la existencia de invernaderos inteligentes, que podrán mantener los cultivos en condiciones óptimas; o monitoreo del ganado, que separará los animales enfermos del resto de la manada para que estos no se contagien.

Drones para el monitoreo de cultivos

Ofrecen vistas aéreas del terreno y recogen la información más importante para analizar el estado de los cultivos. De esta manera, poder tomar decisiones que beneficien al estado de la producción.

Control inteligente de plagas y tecnología de dosis de fertilizantes

Permite al agricultor anteponerse a los problemas, y así poder evitarlos. En cuanto la tecnología de fertilizantes trata de maquinarias que permiten aplicar con alta precisión la dosis necesaria de fertilizantes.

Tractores inteligentes (Smart tractors)

Son tractores sin conductor, se manejan solos. Sustituyen la cabina del conductor por un sistema autónomo con cámaras, sistemas GPS, radares y sensores que permiten detectar los obstáculos y saber cuál es la dirección que tienen que seguir.

Localización y monitorización del ganado

Esta solución también forma parte de nuestro centro demostrador. Se trata de un dispositivo inteligente de Digitanimal integrado en un collar que se puede colocar de forma sencilla en el cuello de los animales.

El sistema de localización está basado en GPS y permite conocer la localización de los animales, los recorridos realizados en las últimas horas, la distancia total recorrida, el tiempo de descanso y la temperatura superficial del animal.

Chatbots para agricultores

Están tomando cada vez más importancia en las empresas agropecuarias. Estos chatbots ofrecen respuestas inmediatas a las dudas que se le plantean. Generalmente es a través de mensajes personalizados.

Monitorización de silos en granjas

Otra de las soluciones que forman parte de nuestro FIWARE Show Room consiste en la tecnología inteligente de INSYLO para la monitorización de silos en granjas.

El dispositivo mostrado permite controlar el nivel de llenado de los silos (construcción diseñada para almacenar el grano) de forma remota (desde el smartphone). El sensor volumétrico que compone esta solución, se encuentra integrado con un panel solar, lo que permite que el dispositivo no tenga que conectarse a la red eléctrica, ya que hace uso de baterías recargables.

¿Qué ventajas supone la aplicación del IoT al sector agrario?

Gracias a la tecnología, agricultores y ganaderos pueden minimizar sus costes, ahorrar tiempo y facilitar las tareas de organización entre otras cosas; como:

  • Mejora la eficiencia de los cultivos.
  • Aumenta la productividad.
  • Baja el consumo de agua, de pesticidas y fertilizantes al saber cuál es la cantidad exacta que necesitan.
  • Permiten tener un mayor control de la explotación, ya que permite guardar y acceder a datos de otros años.
  • Aumenta la calidad de los productos.
  • Se logra una importante reducción del impacto ambiental y ecológico.
  • Aumenta la seguridad en los procesos debido a que evita tareas peligrosas a los agricultores.

FIWARE SPACE

FIWARE Space is the innovation center of the Provincial Council of Badajoz to bring the new technologies of IoT and Big Data to citizens, SMEs and start-ups. It is constituted as an official Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) in Badajoz province to promote the digitization and transformation of companies through technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data and artificial intelligence with FIWARE as data connector from different sources.

This center is part of a global project called “Badajoz Es Más“, which aims to develop municipalities with a better quality of life through sustainable development. The objective is clear: to turn the province of Badajoz into an Intelligent Territory or a “Smart Province”. In order to achieve this goal, it is a must to involve the local companies, the public administration and the citizens.

FIWARE Space coordinates the activity related to the knowledge, use and possibilities offered by the Provincial Platform for Smart Management of Public Services, which allows the integration of information from different smart services in one place, to facilitate the analysis and management of services that are the responsibility of the Provincial Council of Badajoz. This platform uses the latest technologies promoted by the European Commission about how to integrate near real-time data and how to manage context information.

FIWARE Space is a non-profit innovation center that aims to make the technological knowledge and tools of the “Badajoz Es Más” project available to different entities, among which are:

 

– Public administrations
– Municipalities
– Small and medium enterprises
– The teaching and research staff of the university and other educational institutions
– The entrepreneurs
– The citizens

One of the main goals of this center is to support our small and medium enterprises through the digital transformation of the province. For this, the center offers to these entities de following services.

 

SERVICES

– A 2-month mentoring program to go deeper in the technology knowledge and the opportunities that are behind the intelligent province development, to know first-hand the technological work that is being carried out and how to take advantages of this digital transformation. In these 2 months, the company will adapt its solution or service to a FIWARE smart solution, thus being compatible with the platform used by the Badajoz Provincial council that connects all the data sources of the province, and with any other smart city platform that uses this technology.

– Specialized consulting and technical support for the integration of solutions in FIWARE. We help the creation and adaptation of data models, architecture knowledge and the possibilities of integrating into this European standard.

– Certification of solutions in the FIWARE Marketplace website of the FIWARE Foundation. We advise on how to apply with the solution developed to obtain the different certifications.

– Advice on acceleration programs. After the completion of the mentoring program, we try to find a suitable European acceleration program to take the project to the next level.

– Physical location for the development of integration in FIWARE. We have a physical space in which you can work to integrate the solution into FIWARE, with the tools and support of the technical office.

– Theoretical and practical training workshops. Every Friday of the year we conduct workshops to learn more about how a smart city works and what’s the technology behind.

– Visits to the innovation center. Interested people or entities can visit the center once a week to see first hand the digital transformation that is taking place in the province and meet the real solutions that are being installed.

 

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES FOR PYMES

 

FIWARE Space also carries out some unique activities throughout the year:

– Hackathons. Workday in which, by teams, a real technological problem is solved by multidisciplinary teams.

– IoT challenge. Companies are presented to solve a real problem of the province through technology. Once the applications have been submitted, an evaluating court chooses the winner, who will receive an economic endowment to carry out his idea and put it into operation in the province.

– Design Thinking Workshop. Workshop that aims to foster creativity through innovative new methodologies that will allow us to go deep in a specific challenge.

 

EVENTS

In addition to all this, FIWARE Space, in the hands of the Badajoz Provincial Council, participates in different local, national and international events in which it provides visibility to the local companies with the aim to contribute to the expansion of this companies in other regions.

Finally, it should be noted that FIWARE Space is considered as a 2-star FIWARE iHub, catalogued by the FIWARE Foundation, thanks to the work and the number of activities carried out to bring new technologies to citizens.
